Glinda is a Slack app benefitting every organizational level. It ensures that employees are publicly recognized at least once per week, a pre-requisite for employee engagement.
Every Friday, employees will receive a prompt asking them to record 1-5 wins from the week they'd want captured in a performance review.
Every Monday, we send a template to team managers asking them to select 1 win per team member to be highlighted in a weekly recognition team Slack. (This is where the motivation to see entering wins comes from.)
Every Tuesday, team members receive a weekly team recognition message, highlighting 1 contribution per team member from the prior week.
Every month, we send team members and managers a summary of performance.
In this cycle, we are making sure that people get the weekly recognition they need to stay engaged, and we are making recency bias in performance reviews a thing of the past.
The first thing to do is to make sure that each team has a dedicated team channel.
Many teams already have this, but some don't.
To create a team channel that does not yet exist, please do this:
Go to your Slack workspace and click on Create Channel. Invite team members and their manager to the channel, and no one else.
Ask the channel members to fill in their profile information on Slack. This helps ensure smooth communication.
Once your teams are set up, click the "Add Glinda to Slack" button below. Follow the instructions provided to finalize the implementation.
